WWE Evolution (2018)

I saw this show live with Karami and it's still probably my favorite "big arena" show I've been to. Getting into the Fox Sports executive suite for Wrestlemania 35 were bigger experiences but... mostly for the suite lol

Evolution had the VIBE. Everyone was there for the same thing. I had girls sitting near me, probably not even teens, screaming and dying with every pin attempt. I got to see a child call Io Shirai her favorite wrestler. This was a show that was a celebration of everything WWE was building with it's Women in the previous few years.

... And then history remembers it as a failure. As the second one will also likely be. Because ultimately these shows are tools of convenience, for a company that cares more about stockholders than fans.

This rating feels more historic. It's rated in context. Watched now, it might struggle against more modern, great shows, but in a time of WWE dominance, when the bar was dragged low by some of the worst TV they ever did, this show was a shining star.

⭐⭐⭐⭐🌗 (shut up I don't have a half star emoji)
