Naomi dressing and armoring herself up in her Prologue era armor. An old design (verging on 20 years to the first drawing I did of Naomi), but one I'm kinda treating for as 'canon' for this period due to all the art of it in the game.
After Prologue, I wanna make something a bit different, more detailed, and a tad more reasonable. Think more "the middle era of Fire Emblem". Not realistic, but grounded. This on the other hand is very very 80s anime and that totally fits the vibe for the game. Anyways, some notes on things.
- This is a good illustration of the reality of Aistorian armor and dress. You have a suit of armor, made by a blacksmith, connecting to an arming garment and harness manufactured over sea with "modern" (Fabrique, as it's called in Aistoria) materials.
- You would totally have people who insisted on completely traditional materials for everything, but even they would be taking advantage of more sophisticated design patterns.
- The younger kids might be borderline "tacticool" with some of the arming garment stuff, to the point of being... feudalistically cringe 😬
- While Naomi isn't in anything even approaching full plate, you'd imagine an Aistorian Knight would be able to armor up by themselves without it being a complete nightmare.
- ... Naomi is supposed ot have leg armor and elbow pads but come on, I'm doing this in Koikatsu, getting this far is a miracle.
- It's always a struggle for to want to balance more love for realistic stuff with my love of 80s anime aesthetics. Even when I update her armor, it's going to be hard to break free of that and... honestly, why?
- Naomi kinda loves how her undergarments feel and this totally reflects in other outfits she wears for fun...
- In general she likes tight stuff that doesn't bite in on her. Tight high waisted jeans, t-back, high rise underwear. Stuff like the "arming bolero" which supports materials with her whole upper body rather than cutting in on her shoulders or neck.\
- Honestly the part of this outfit I find the hardest to justify from an In-Character standpoint are those monster lace-up boots... Maybe they have a zipper somewhere...
Anyways, have another before/after, but this time for like 14 different pictures at the same time.
